The story

The legend of the Dragon Gate

There is an old story about a waterfall so high that no fish had ever reached the top. Thousands tried. The legend says that any koi brave enough to make the climb, and lucky enough to swim through the Dragon Gate, would rise from the water as a dragon.

You are that koi. Tap to swim against the current. Stop, and the falls drag you back down. Rocks, boulders, drifting logs, fishing nets and whirlpools stand in your way, and the closer you dare to brush past them, the bigger your combo grows.

Every 1,500 metres a Dragon Gate glows in the spray. Swim through it and you become a dragon for a while, smashing rocks that would have stopped a koi. Then the river changes again, from Mossy Creek all the way up to the Sky River.

How a round plays

  1. Step 1

    Swim

    Tap left, centre or right to swim up-left, up or up-right.

  2. Step 2

    Graze

    Slip past obstacles as close as you dare. Close calls build your combo.

  3. Step 3

    Transform

    Reach a Dragon Gate and rise as a dragon. Smash everything in your path.

Pro tips

Play like a pro

  • Power-ups: Bubble Shield takes one hit for you, Slow Water calms the current, Pearl Magnet pulls pearls in.

  • Spend pearls on new koi, from Ogon Gold and Showa up to the starry Galaxy.

  • Missions come in threes. Finish all three to level up and get a new set.

  • Crashed? You get one second chance per run, so make it count.
